Keen to get some perspective on the Flinders Ranges, I decided to climb one of the local peaks. Setting off fairly early I knew I would have it to myself.

Another blue sky day, great for the likes of me, but disappointing for the locals, as the weather forecasters can see no rain on the horizon for at least the next couple of months.
The climb to the summit was enjoyable though I was conscious I only have one pair of shoes and so, trod carefully on the loose rocks and sharp edges.

Lots of opportunities for photos, but for whatever reason, photos of expansive views never seem to deliver the results one imagines, still, didn’t stop me from taking quite a few.

Seeking another perspective, I decided to cycle some of the Heysen trail, and so glad I did.

The scenery was stunning, though the track was tough, and I did a considerable amount of walking.

I’m sure my bike was up to it, but I was definitely not. Something to think about for the future, a bit of mountain biking.

Clocked up 20km after four hours, so yes, it was tough going.

I didn’t take too many breaks as the flies were relentless in their desire to enjoy me. Don’t think I’ll ever get used to the damn things!
